Things to note

What is the NDIA?

The NDIA is the National Disability Insurance Agency. It’s the independent agency in charge of rolling out the NDIS.

What is the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission?

The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (also known as the NDIS Commission) is an independent government body that works to ensure and improve the safety of NDIS services and supports. From December 2020, all states and territories will be covered by the NDIS Commission.

What does an NDIS plan look like?

Every NDIS plan is unique, tailored to your specific needs. The NDIA will ask questions about your lifestyle, goals, and the type of support required to create a personalised plan. Each year, you can review your plan with the NDIA to ensure you’re receiving the right support. If necessary, you can request a review sooner.

How NDIS funding works

Your NDIS plan will detail your funding, the categories you have access to, and their purposes. We can help you navigate your plan and explain your options based on your available funding.

The NDIS plans consist of three support budgets:

  • Core Supports budget: for assistance with everyday tasks and activities, including community participation and transport.

  • Capacity Building Supports budget: for support aimed at fostering independence and skill development.

  1. Capital Supports Budget: designated for one-off purchases, such as technology and home modifications, as well as Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA). Capital Supports funds must be used for their specific purposes.

Isla Care charges in line with the NDIS Price Guide

Once you have your NDIS plan and understand which supports you’re funded for, we will work closely with you to find the right services that align with your funding.

What is Temporary Transformation Payment (TTP)?

The TTP applies to certain types of support received under the NDIS, such as assistance with daily personal activities. This payment is crucial for providers to continuously improve the quality of their services.

What is the NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a vital initiative that enables people living with a disability to access essential support across all Australian states and territories. As one of the leading NDIS providers on the Gold Coast, we understand the importance of giving individuals choice and control over their support. The NDIS is designed to assist with daily living tasks, enhance skills, and foster independence.

What types of support does the NDIS offer?

The NDIS offers a wide range of support options, including:

  • Accommodation options

  • Daily personal activities

  • Getting out and about in the community

  • Transport to community groups and daily life activities

  • Employment and workplace assistance

  • Therapeutic supports, including early intervention

  • Household tasks

  • Home and vehicle modifications

  • Mobility equipment

While the NDIS doesn’t fund general health or education services, it can help you access or support you while using any community services available.

Who can access it?

Anyone who meets the eligibility criteria can access the NDIS. To check your eligibility, you can use the NDIS’s eligibility checklist.

How does the NDIS work?

If you’re eligible and your Access Request is approved, you’ll collaborate with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) to develop your NDIS plan. This plan outlines your individual goals and the funding allocated to help you achieve them. Once your NDIS plan is in place, you can start exploring various NDIS supports on the Gold Coast. If your plan includes ‘support coordination,’ a Support Coordinator can assist you in maximising the benefits of your NDIS plan.
